If the squeegee is the water collector, the vac motor is the engine that makes collection possible. It creates the suction that pulls the recovered water through the hoses, past the float, and into the recovery tank. Without it, everything else is just theater.

This is the genuine Nilfisk Advance OEM VACUUM MOTOR ASSY US+CN, part number VF89341, brand new in the box. Vac motors are one of the more expensive parts on the machine, so they're worth taking care of — clean the recovery tank regularly, keep the float working, and don't let the tank overfill.

When you do have to replace one, do the rest of the recovery system at the same time: gaskets, hoses, float valve. A fresh motor into an old leaky system doesn't stay a fresh motor for long.
