The squeegee assembly is the wet-side of the machine's whole personality — it decides whether the floor behind you is finished or just re-wetted. A clean pickup is the difference between "the crew was here" and "the crew was here and we need to close this aisle for another twenty minutes." The squeegee assembly is a system — the frame carries the pressure, the blades do the work, the channel routes the recovery, the casters hold the angle. When one piece is off, the whole system underperforms, and it usually shows up as a blade problem when it isn't one.

Factory geometry is why the seal works. Aftermarket assemblies advertised as "compatible" tend to be compatible in the loose sense of the word — they mount, but they don't hug the floor the same way.
